PACTV Community News - Kingston Elm Street Dam Update Winter 2017
For several years, the folks at the Jones River Watershed Association have been doing everything they can to take down the Elm Street Dam in Kingston. While it might be nice to look at, it doesn’t serve the ecological purpose it was designed for centuries ago. According to the JRWA, it makes not only ecological sense to take it down, but financial sense as well. Well, now they’ve got the funding to begin the process of removing the dam. We spoke the group’s ecology program director to find out what will be the next step.
